My main concern would be writing experience. While my 'day job' involves writing every single day, it's in terms of the financial industry, not book publication - in short, I'm concerned I might be a little short on that field.

Oh, and given my current wage (go financial services industry) and experience in the writing field, I would have trouble getting a wage to make it worthwhile relocating to America.

The dollar / £ exchange at the moment is vile...

You're absolutely right on all points, except that I don't believe the position requires relocation.
