Deimos Masque's Vampire Google Map

Deimos Masque from the WW forums posted this recently, and it's a really cool idea: He's using Google Maps to track important locations and domains for his Vampire: The Requiem game.

I totally plan to steal this idea at some point, but I can envision this being a great resource for LARPs that often deal with matters of what location is in relation to what other location.

I don't often gush about myself on here, but Matt McElroy ([info]matt_m_mcelroy) recently posted a really nice article about the Alternative Product line I'm responsible for.

White Wolf’s Alternative Publishing Efforts

It's a really good summary of what's been happening with AP over the past few months, and Matt's been very proactive in promoting our efforts -- not because he's required to, but because he's sincerely a fan. It really helps me to see someone who not only completely gets the vision we have for AP, but also has been a fan of my work since MET: Awakening. And he's a really cool guy.

So, since this is my space, I'm saying this as a person and not as a representative of the company: go check out FlamesRising.com. Read reviews. Buy stuff from the store. Check out the latest news. It's a good site, and it totally deserves your support.

As probably everyone who reads this knows, I'm a huge fan of Evil Hat's Spirit of the Century, as well as just about everything Chad Underkoffler puts out over as Atomic Sock Monkey Press. Recently, they put out a joint free holiday product for both SotC and Truth and Justice called Spirit of the Season! It's a Christmas-themed pulp setting, featuring Nick Saint and his two-fisted Reindeer Men, taking on notorious criminals like Jacques Frost and and Baroness Blackheart. Even if you don't play either game, if you like 30s pulp and Christmas humor, it's worth a look. Did I mention it's free?

It reminded me of another humorous Christmas-themed RPG, Santa's Soldiers by Deep 7. This is more paramilitary then pulp, but it's still a hilariously chaotic romp through the world of the elves of the Order of St. Nicholas (OSN), Santa's paramilitary defense force. Santa's Soldiers is a complete RPG, however, and only $8 for the PDF.
